- Does your teenager seem to take life too seriously and rarely have fun?
- Does your teen seem to be living for the future or in the past? Does she/he have trouble just being in the present moment?
- Is life so scheduled that your teen has lost the capacity to access their imagination and enthusiasm for playful fun?
- Does your teen seem intense with worry and anxiety about friends, school, sports, extra-curricular activities, family, and life in general?
- Are you concerned about placing your teenager on medication because of recent warnings issued by the FDA?
This workshop is for young people ages 13-19 to join other teens to spend an afternoon playing, laughing, and learning yoga and meditation techniques. The objective of this workshop is for teens to take leave of stress and experience a playful, JOYOUS meditative state quickly by learning tools to INTEGRATE mind, body and spirit. Teens will leave with EASY ways to manage stress, find joy, calm and tranquility, and a renewed sense of playfulness. There will be two parts to the workshop: meditation and yoga, and playfulness and laughter.
Dhyana Meditation is a tool that can help settle your teenager’s busy mind to experience a state of stillness, awareness, calm, and tranquility. It helps to reduce stress, promote relaxation, enrich mental functioning, creativity, and enhance personal relationships. It is very simple to learn and can become a valuable tool your teenager can take with him/her through life.
The laughter exercises will be designed to engage your teenager in social playful fun with other teens. The exercises promote playfulness, group cohesion, and laughter and joy.
