A new client says to a therapist. "I was addicted to food, I couldn't stop eating. I saw a therapist and three years later I no longer had an overeating problem. I was drinking all the time. I saw a therapist and three years later I stopped drinking. I used to chain smoke. I saw a therapist and three years later I stopped smoking and coughing."

The therapist asked, "Wand what kind of a problem can I help you with?"

"Now I'm addicted to therapists. I got to talk to one every time I have a problem. I want you to help me break this therapist addiction."

With a pleased smile on his face the therapist replied, "Well and good. I'm just the person who can help you with this."

The client asked, "And how long will it take?"

"Oh, about a month."

"A month! What king of a therapist are you? All my other problems took years to fix!"

"I see your point of view. On second consideration I believe it will take three years to solve this problem."

The client, greatly relieved says, "Now you're talking like a professional."
