    Seeking and Finding the Truth

While I was watching television, this religious individual showed up on the screen spouting, "Truth, you got to have it. Don't just sit there, don't just stand there, go out there and find Truth!"

I got so excited I couldn't wait. I went straight to the Holy Enlightened One and said, "I got to have truth. I don't care how big or small it is as long as I know one thing that is true."

The Holy Enlightened One took me out to the country, to a pasture where a farmer grazed his bulls. The Holy Enlightened One said, "Cross this field of bull and at the other end is a rock. Read what is written on that rock and you will know something that is true."

That pasture was full of fresh cow chips but that wasn't going to stop me. Those cow chips were worse than banana peels. I slipped and fell with each step I took. I was covered with potential fertilizer before I got to that rock of truth. There was nothing written on it.

Rage went through me in waves. I walked back without slipping or faltering even once. When I got back to where the Holy Enlightened One was standing I screamed at him, "There is nothing written on that rock!"

"Now you know truth number one," said the Holy Enlightened One.

"You mean I went through all that *&*#!%^&* for nothing!"

"Now you know truth number two," said the Holy Enlightened One.

It took a couple of showers and soaking in a hot tub filled with rose petal oils before the smell of my past experience disappeared. The Holy Enlightened One seeing me refreshed and dressed said, "Are you ready for truth number three?"

I couldn't resist, I took the bait. "What is truth number three?"

"As you walk through the field of bull, it matters not how often you slip and fall, or how smeared you get as you search for your own personal Truth, as long as when it is all over you wind up smelling like a rose."
