While we look in the mirror for that which makes us unique, it does not occur to us that identical images of our body parts might be distributed among the multitude of humanity.
When he asked his girlfriend why she had dated so many guys before she met him, she said that they were all precursors to him. It seems that each had a different part of his body. One had a finger, another toes, another a nose... you know what I mean.
"If they were precursors, what does that make me?" he asked.
"You are a cursor." she replied.
It seemed that by being exposed to the various body parts of the precursors it allowed her to recognize him, the cursor, when she saw him. He wouldn't have minded so much if she had dated just a few guys, one who had his top half the other the bottom half or one the left side and the other the right side. But a guy for every finger of each hand, not to mention all the other parts of his anatomy.
Eventually, they broke up. It seems he was just another in a long line of precursors, which would lead her to the true cursor. He didn't know how much of what she said he could really accept, but of all the people he had ever met, whether men or women, she certainly had the best excuse for being easy.
To be fair, he was pretty easy too. He kept wondering, what physical attribute she represented for the cursor in his life.
