Will Rogers, the comedian and social satirist, had a way with politicians. He would twirl a rope while telling jokes about problems ordinary folk were having. This had a transforming effect on politicians. After the performance they would go to their offices and start working on fixing the problems.

A fan of Will Rogers figured that what worked for him might work for her. So she bought a rope and headed for Washington. No sooner did she enter the House of Congress then security guards surrounded her. They wanted know what she intended to do with the rope. Why naturally she told them the truth, "I intend to use this here rope on the first congressman I see!" And you know, for no reason whatsoever they threw her into jail.
