This question, a major topic was eloquently addressed on a radio talk show.
The moderator had this to say about the subject matter. "Giving animals, by passage of law, the same rights as human beings is ridiculous. It is after all our legal system that separates human beings from the animals. Take dogs for instance. If a male dog meets a female dog for the first time, they immediately start sniffing each other out. On the other hand, when a human male and human female meet for the very first time, they would like to sniff each other out but can't because it's illegal."
The moderator further stated, "Now if we give dogs the same legal status as human beings, thereby passing laws for and against their well-being, and if the male and female dogs refuse to stop sniffing each other every time they meet, their actions would thereby cause great legal ramifications, possibly threatening our judicial system."
When it comes to using words, some people sure know their stuff. The sign of a great orator is his ability to put words together in such a fashion as to create agreement from the listeners, without their being able to sniff out any irregularities, inconsistencies, non-sensicalities or conclusion on the topic in question.
